Over Under Over Under Overalls

Overalls: loosefitting trousers of some strong cotton cloth, often with a part extending up over the chest, worn, usually over other clothing, to protect against dirt and wear.

Ashton Kutcher: HOT, Fat Man: NOT

Overalls are a cute and casual item of clothing that has many different uses. It is very versatile and can be dressed up or down, depending on the occasion. Similar to jumpers, but overalls have attached suspenders.

Lauren Conrad and this girl are wearing shortalls, overalls with shorts instead of pants.

Corduroy by Don Freeman

Many of you are familiar with the book "Corduroy" by Don Freeman. For many of us, this was our first introduction to corduroy fabric. For those of you who may not be familiar with Corduroy, he was a teddy bear with green corduroy overalls who travels all over a department store during the night, then gets bought the next day by a little girl named Lisa. The corduroy we're typing about is a popular fabric for pants, like the ones above. Corduroy is a textile composed of twisted fibers that, when woven, lie parallel to one another to form the cloth's distinct pattern, a "cord," or "wale." Corduroy is like a ridged form of velvet.

Corduroy is considered a durable cloth. Socially speaking, the clothes made from corduroy are considered casual to business casual, and are usually favored in colder climates. Corduroy is most commonly found in the construction of pants. The material is also used in the construction of jackets and shirts.

For all of you adventurous people, try adding corduroy to your wardrobe and see what a difference it makes!

Camouflage Is Cool

Camouflage pants were originally worn by soldiers, but over the years they have become acceptable for everyone, with stars like Rihanna paving the way. Military camouflage became an essential part of modern military tactics after the increase in accuracy and rate of fire of weapons during the 19th century. Camouflage is intended to merge with the surroundings, hence the green/brown/yellow splotches. Camouflage clothing has become commonplace and when worn the right way, looks fabulous!

You Can't Handle the Suspense........................Suspender Pants!

Car Go (Go Car?)

Cargo Pants can be wearable in anywhere from ski hills to night club and anywhere between. A great pant for everyday and anybody can wear them! Cargo pants are like regular khaki pants, but originally designed for tough, outdoor activities like hiking. They are baggier, permitting free movement, made of hardwearing, quick-drying fabrics, with tough stitching, and have large belt loops and several additional patch pockets.
Cargo pockets generally have accordion folds in the sides for increased capacity, and often have large flaps secured with snaps, buttons or Velcro. They are used on sport hunting clothing for carrying maps, compasses and other equipment in an easily accessible way.

The garments are normally made of rectangular panels of fabric, designed to allow bending at the knee and hip without stretching. Occasionally the knee joint has a hidden gap for ventilation. The many pockets make this pant ideal for times when you don't want to carry anything with your hands.

Jumpsuits and Rompers, Which Do You Prefer?

Rompers and jumpsuits are a cute alternative to pants, leggings, shorts, and other bottoms. They connect a top and bottom together to create a hybrid! Jumpsuits cover most of or the entire leg where rompers have shorts attached. Popular during the summer, rompers are a fun way to mix up your wardrobe. A favorite of Rihanna, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, rompers and jumpsuits are guaranteed to make you stand out!

Smoooth Velvet

Alexander Wang
Velvet s a type of woven tufted fabric in which the cut threads are very evenly distributed, with a short dense pile, giving it a distinct feel. Velvet can be made from many different kinds of fibers. It is woven on a special loom that weaves two pieces of velvet at the same time. The two pieces are then cut apart and the two lengths of fabric are wound on separate take-up rolls. Velvet was expensive to make before industrial power looms became available, thus, it is considered a luxury good and associated with high status.
Chloe

Velvet is made, ideally, from silk. Cotton can also be used, though this often results in a slightly less luxurious fabric. More recently, synthetic velvets have been developed, mostly polyester, nylon, viscose, acetate, and mixtures of different synthetics, or synthetics and natural fibers (eg. viscose and silk). Velvet can also be made from fibers such as linen, mohair, and wool. A cloth made by the Kuba people of the Democratic Republic of Congo from raffia is often referred to as "Kuba Velvet". A small percentage of lycra is used sometimes to give stretch. The art of velvet-weaving probably originated in medieval Kashmir around the beginning of the fourteenth century.
Anna Sui

According to Style.com, velvet will be big for Fall 2010. So ladies, it's time to stock up on some velvet! Plush and warm, velvet is the perfect fabric to keep you warm yet fashionable. Latex Vortex

Latex rubber is used in many types of clothing. Worn on the body it tends to be skin-tight, producing a "second-skin" effect. Lightweight and smooth, latex is perfect for a night out on the town.

Jello Jeggings

More and more celebrities have picked up on a new fashion trend, which has an interesting name: “jeggings”. Jeggings are a combination of the words jeans and leggings (the name, obviously, originated from here). The trend can be described as following: the item is not just leggings, but not yet jeans either. However, the jeans element dominates in some models in the form of pockets, seams and studs, creating this way a look of skinny-leg jeans. Another variety of this trend is regular leggings with demium-styled prints, which make the material look like jeans. It is hard to say if jeggings trend has bright future in the history of fashion, but the trend is already favored by such celebrities as Sienna Miller, Beyonce, Whitney Port, and Kate Bosworth.

I Love Vinyl

Vinyl pants are favored by punk fashionistas to make a statement.Vinyl clothing is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC) which is the third most widely used plastic. It is cheap, durable, and easy to assemble. It is used in clothing when the addition of plasticizers makes it softer and more flexible. You can buy vinyl clothing at stores like Hot Topic or on the web.

Hip Hop And Ya Don't Stop

http://titanmb.blogspot.com/
Hip hop clothes in the late ’70s and mid ’80s:

Baggy pants, oversized athletic jerseys, and expensive sneakers were sort of a uniform for all the fans of the hip hop culture. Although hip-hop was the musical outgrowth of urban African-American culture, it soon traveled across the globe. Brands started associating itself with the hip hop culture. Bright tracksuits, leather bomber jackets and sneakers were now being manufactured by big brands in the business.

It was not only the clothing but also the accessories that gained a lot of prominence. Bling was considered ‘in’. Men wore huge necklaces, chains, rings and bulky belts where as the women adorned huge and heavy earrings with metallic belts. Loads of bling was worn with loads of attitude.

Hip hop clothing in the late ’80s to early ’90s:
Hip hop was also categorized with vivid hairstyles and looks by this era. Different types of braided hairdos and dreadlocks dominated the scene at that time. Neon colored clothing and even neon shoelace was flaunted by leading hip hop groups. MC Hammer popularized the blousy pants and it resulted in them being a common item in the corridors of colleges. There was even a trend of wearing ones clothes backward. Silver and gold jewelry gained prominence during this era.

Hip hop clothing post mid 1990s:
Rap being popular by now, it took on a new look with the trend of ‘Gangsta’ rap catching on amongst the hip hop fanatics. Branded baseball caps, plaid shirts and outfits that resembled the prison gear caught on amongst the people like wildfire. Low waist pants actually originated from the gangsters who wore this clothing in prison. Lots of tattoos and bandannas also gained impetus in terms of hip hop clothing.

Hip hop clothing as seen today:
Despite all the changes and transitions, the main elements for the male hip hop fashionistas today, remain baggy pants , polo shirts and gold/platinum chains. The feet should be clad in huge boots and sneakers and caps should be worn to complete the look. (Preferably worn the opposite way) Large T-Shirts are also standard street wear today. Now, there is a marked difference between the male and female fashion scene in hip hop.

The women who originally adopted the ‘tough-guy’ look, now sport feminine hip hop gear. The base often remains the same, the pants are slimmer, the skirts-shorter and are often combined with leggings and boots. The glam look can never be complete without some loud make up, a touch of lip-gloss and women oozing sensuality instead of the tomboy style of dressing. Earlier, groups like Salt ‘n’ Pepa made a mark with their bold videos and overt dressing. Cornrows with colorful beads, chunky, beaded jewelry and tying a bandanna around one’s thigh also remains to be a part of hip hop clothing gear.

Today, there are many brands that cater to the growing market for hip hop clothing gear. Of course, whether one wears a branded jacket with a non-branded baggy pant, the entire look can never be complete unless you manage to season it with oodles of attitude combined with some snazzy head spins on the floor. This is definitely the true flavor of hip hop.

Skinny Minnies

The skinny style of pants originated in the 1950’s, with popular stars such as Marilyn Monroe and Sandra Dee wearing their pants very slim to the ankle. It became most notable with country music stars and the birth of rock and roll, when Elvis Presley donned slim-fitting jeans and shocked the country.

The skinny jean enjoyed a brief revival in the 1980s, only to resurface again in 2006. Today’s popularity of the skinny jean has been credited to that most British of fashion icon’s Kate moss.

The skinny jean is different from any other jeans. It’s tight throughout the leg, tapering in toward the ankle. There are different types of skinny jeans; Cigarette jeans, straight-leg jeans and skinny jeans. The biggest difference is leg opening. Not like skinny jeans where it gets smaller as near ankle, the cigarette jean’s leg opening stays the same. For straight- leg jeans, leg opening stays the same from the tight down.

What to Wear:
Top: Because skinny jeans are so tight, fuller top should be the best item to balance the look. Tunics, short dress, or drapey tops could be the best fashionable item. Otherwise, to wear with tight tops, it should be hit at the belt line and give a point on the belt.

Shoes: Skinny jeans match with any kind of shoes. But to make legs look long and lean skinny jeans should be worn with heels. For lovely look, skinny jeans goes perfect match with ballerina flats and for sporty look, try converse, vans, or toms shoes.
